Volunteer With Heaven-Sent
No one should have to beg to survive—especially not the people who built this country with their hands, their backs, and their service.
At Heaven-Sent Community Services and Veterans Assistance, Inc., we meet veterans, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families on the edge every day. Some are living in cars and campers. Some are choosing between food, medicine, and rent. Some are wondering if anyone even remembers they exist.
Volunteers are the proof that somebody still does. If you have ever looked at the world and thought, “Somebody has to do something,” maybe that somebody is you.
Ways You Can Serve
What We Ask of Volunteers
This Is More Than Volunteering
This is not just filling a slot or passing time. This is standing in the gap for people who feel forgotten. This is answering phones, praying with hurting people, packing food, helping with transportation, showing up after disaster, and reminding someone that they are still seen, still valued, and still loved.
At Heaven-Sent, we will never throw you into something alone. We will talk with you, listen to your heart, and help you find the place that fits your health, your schedule, and your calling.

Why Volunteers Matter
We can’t be everywhere, but together, we can get a lot closer.
When a veteran sleeps in his truck, a volunteer can be the one who knocks on the window with a hot meal and a kind word. When a senior feels invisible, a volunteer can be the voice on the phone that says, “I’m here. Tell me what’s going on.” When a family is about to lose the last safe place they have, a volunteer can help us move faster and hold that line.
Our staff is small, and the need is huge. Your time, your compassion, and even a few hours a month can become the difference between someone giving up—and someone finding strength to keep going.

What We Ask of Our Volunteers
The people we serve are already carrying heavy burdens. We need volunteers who will help us carry those burdens with care.
We ask you to treat every person with dignity, respect, and confidentiality. Be willing to listen more than you speak. Follow Heaven-Sent policies, safety guidelines, and leadership instructions. Respect that we are a Christian, faith‑grounded ministry while never forcing beliefs on anyone. Be dependable—if you say “yes,” we are trusting you to show up.
Basic Expectations
- Treat every person with dignity, respect, and confidentiality.
- Be willing to listen more than you speak.
- Follow Heaven‑Sent policies, safety guidelines, and leadership instructions.
- Respect that we are a Christian, faith‑grounded ministry while never forcing beliefs on anyone.
- Be dependable—if you say “yes,” we are trusting you to show up.
When Extra Screening Is Needed
For some roles, especially those working directly with vulnerable adults, families, or disaster deployments, we may also require:
- A simple application and conversation
- Background checks (where needed)
- Basic training in trauma‑informed care and safety
We don’t expect you to know everything. We will walk with you and prepare you.
This Is More Than Volunteering
Volunteering with Heaven‑Sent isn’t about “clocking hours.” It’s about standing in the gap when the world has walked away.
It’s sitting in a parking lot with someone who hasn’t been looked in the eyes all week.
It’s helping a veteran fill out a form he’s too ashamed to ask about.
It’s telling a senior, “You are not a burden. You are loved.”
You may think you’re just one person. But to the person sitting in that car, camper, or dark apartment, you might be the only person who shows up.
How to Get Started
If your heart is tugging at you, reach out and let us know you would like to volunteer.
When others walk past, we stop.
When others forget, we remember.
When the world gives up, we begin.
