Heroes Shouldn’t Have to Beg to Survive
Heaven-Sent serves veterans, seniors, people with disabilities, families, people experiencing homelessness, and disaster survivors who are trying to find a safe and responsible path forward.
Your support helps strengthen the work Heaven-Sent is doing today while helping us build the next level of housing, outreach, workforce development, disaster preparedness, and supportive services through the planned Heaven-Sent Safe Harbor initiative.
What We Do Today. What We’re Building Tomorrow.
Heaven-Sent is already serving people in crisis through outreach, case support, housing navigation, veteran services, referrals, transportation assistance, food and basic-needs support, disaster response, and community partnerships.
Safe Harbor is the next stage of that mission. It is being developed as a broader campus-based initiative designed to expand housing stability, workforce development, disaster preparedness, supportive services, and practical pathways toward independence.

Put Yourself in Their Place for 30 Seconds
The following stories reflect the real kinds of crises Heaven-Sent encounters in community service. Details are presented without identifying clients so their privacy and dignity remain protected.
Your Truck Becomes Your Bedroom
You served your country and came home carrying scars that other people cannot always see. Now the back of a pickup in a parking lot is where you try to sleep. You are too proud to beg, but too exhausted to keep pretending everything is all right.
Heaven-Sent’s role: listen without judgment, help identify immediate needs, connect the Veteran with appropriate VA and community resources, and work on the practical barriers standing between crisis and stability.
A Lifetime Packed Into Three Bags
You are 72 years old. Your rent goes up by $300, but your Social Security does not. Suddenly the home you could afford yesterday is beyond reach. You begin packing a lifetime into a few bags while trying to figure out what comes next.
Heaven-Sent’s role: help sort through options, make referrals, assist with calls and paperwork, and search for responsible housing, benefits, food, transportation, and community resources that may be available.
Two More Nights at the Motel
You push your child’s wheelchair into a motel late at night and count what money is left. You can afford only a couple more nights. You are trying to care for your child while carrying the fear of not knowing where your family will sleep after checkout.
Heaven-Sent’s role: treat the family with dignity, understand disability-related needs, help navigate appropriate resources and referrals, and work with qualified community partners toward the safest available next step.
Discharged — But Discharged to Where?
You are a disabled Veteran holding hospital discharge papers that tell you to follow up with your doctor. But you do not have a stable mailing address, reliable transportation, or a safe place to sleep and recover.
Heaven-Sent’s role: help address the practical barriers around the Veteran, connect with appropriate VA and community services, assist with navigation and referrals, and help build a workable next-step plan.

Help Build the Next Level of the Mission
Heaven-Sent Safe Harbor is a planned development initiative intended to expand the organization’s regional capacity. It is not presented as an already-operating campus. Donor and partner support will help move the initiative from planning and development into real facilities and services.
There Has to Be a Better Next Step
Homelessness and displacement place everyone in difficult situations: the people living outside, neighborhoods, service providers, healthcare systems, outreach teams, and law enforcement.
Heaven-Sent believes the answer is not simply moving people from one location to another. The long-term answer requires housing options, case support, transportation, benefits navigation, workforce pathways, disability-aware services, community partnerships, and places where people can safely begin rebuilding.
That is the problem Safe Harbor is being designed to help address.
