Disability Support

A Message from Heaven Sent Community Services and Veterans Assistance

In Florida today, behind every closed door and long waiting list, there’s a mother or father quietly crying in their car, wondering what to do next. They’ve spent years fighting for their children — making calls, filling out forms, begging for help that never comes. And every “no” breaks them just a little more.

I know this pain because I’ve lived it. My son, is high-functioning and has Asperger's symptoms. He is brilliant. He is gentle. He has a heart bigger than the world — but the world has not always made room for him.

For years, we searched for help. We called every number, chased every lead, filled out every form. We were told to wait, to try somewhere else, that he didn’t qualify. And every time the phone went silent on the other end, I saw the same look in his eyes — confusion, frustration, and a question he didn’t know how to ask: Why doesn’t anybody want to help me?

As a parent, that question shatters you. Because you don’t have an answer. You just hold them, love them, and promise that somehow, you’ll make it better. That’s what we did — we turned that heartbreak into a mission

At Heaven Sent Community Services and Veterans Assistance, we’re building what should have existed all along — a lifeline for families like ours. We’re partnering with Samaritan’s Purse, Mennonite and Methodist Disaster Services, Seventh-day Adventist teams, the VFW, and the American Legion. Together, we are taking the same hands that rebuild towns after hurricanes… and using them to rebuild lives.

Here at Heaven-Sent Community Services and Veterans Assistance, our work is born from the simple truth that love still heals what the world has broken. We’re not just restoring homes—we’re restoring hope. Every nail, every repaired step, every open door is an act of grace, a living prayer that says, you are not forgotten.

We are creating a special-needs transitional shelter so that no child of God ever again has to rest on the cold pavement, wondering if anyone still sees them. For God calls us to shelter His children with compassion and care—to be the hands that lift, the hearts that listen, and the arms that hold.

We offer support groups for the unseen and unheard, where no heart feels forgotten and no soul walks alone.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4).

Here, tears are holy, honesty is healing, and faith is the bridge that carries us toward tomorrow.

We build respite centers and shelters for the weary, the heartbroken, and the faithful—for the mother who has given everything, yet has nothing left to give; for the father who prays through tears that his child will be safe one more night; for the caregiver whose faith is strong but whose body is tired. These sanctuaries are not just walls and roofs—they are havens of grace, where trembling hands finally rest, where tears can fall without shame, and where silence feels holy. Here, parents lay down their burdens and breathe, “Thank You, Lord,” as peace washes over them like morning light. For the first time in a long time, they know their loved ones are safe, cherished, and held not only by caring hands—but by the arms of God Himself.

And beyond the walls we build, Heaven-Sent opens doors to renewal—to dignity, purpose, and hope reborn through faith, love, and community. For every person who walks through these doors, there is a promise fulfilled:

“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles” (Isaiah 40:31).

Here, grace is not just spoken—it’s built, lived, and shared. This is holy ground, where love becomes shelter, and every soul finds its way home.

Because this fight shouldn’t be fought alone.

When I look at him, I see every child and adult with special needs who have been forgotten by broken systems and forgotten promises. And I refuse to give up on them. This isn’t just a cause — it’s sacred work. It’s love in action. It’s faith put to use. Because if the world won’t open the door, then we’ll build a new one — with ramps wide enough for everyone to enter.

Every board we nail, every home we fix, every hand we hold is for the CJs of this world — the ones who deserve to be seen, to be heard, and to be helped.

At Heaven-Sent Community Services and Veterans Assistance, we don’t just rebuild houses.

We rebuild hope.

We rebuild families.

We rebuild dreams.

And we do it with tears in our eyes, love in our hearts, and faith that refuses to quit.
